Discover how we managed the construction of the first appliance’s plant of BSH in Mexico.
Major companies have sought to expand throughout Latin America, our client BSH (part of the Bosch group), selected the state of Nuevo León to locate its first plant in the country; and AECOM Mexico, as the ideal partner to execute the construction management. The 430,000 sqm facility will become an important pillar of the company’s growth strategy on the American continent.
What was AECOM’s role?
As a design supervisor and project manager, our firm was responsible for coordinating the construction on a greenfield site, creating a detailed project timeline along with a comprehensive procurement process and budget tracking.
AECOM role included overall project supervision, from land preparation to building delivery, including equipment commissioning and systems testing. We developed a safety plan and trained workers to prioritize safe work practices. The project received recognition for health, safety, and environmental (HS&E) matters, achieving minimal near misses and accidents. Implementing quality assurance measures throughout construction was a significant milestone for our client. Engineers and supervision teams focused on integrating the façade with natural wooden materials as part of the corporate branding.
Our team also conducted regular inspections and coordinated testing of works and materials; and we are in the path for completing the handover of the facility. This project will have a significant social impact, bringing nearly 1,500 new job opportunities to the local community.
